    Lakeland

    [B
Chuck Uncle(sp?) set the world record for height in the MOD U class as they came off the beach, Chuck started on the outside and was pushing hard as they approached the bottom turn and up he went doing a 2-1/2 back flip. He landed on the capsule and there was a lot of fear on the beach.

They brought Chuch to beach consious and complaing of pain in the lower back, but able to move all extremities thank goodness. Had 11 MOD U's and great turnout for Lakeland.

SST 45 was a terrific race with 4 boats changing places on almost every lap, with Jose Mendana Jr. taking the win over Blair Pontek and Steve Lee.

    CSR Tom Nuccio
    ASH Walt Schipf
    60-Carole Reno

    CRS has set in.

Dang ray, Blair let's up and I get 2nd and you give him credit? Haha. We had some fun in 45s today. If only I could keep my speed through the corners I could give these guys a serious run. I could get them on top end but kept losing momentum in the corners.

I am gonna try a different prop tomorrow that is even faster on a long course. And believe me, it is long out here.

At chilis now getting something to eat and drink.

      I will check in tomorrow.

      Steve.

          J

We only got one heat of J and OSY in before the sun set. Will finish tomorrow morning.

          1st heat JSH
          Joel Kiddy
          Becky Nichols
          Andrew Kiddy
          Justin Pinner
          Joey Waterson
          Mike Carter

We aren't sure who won the football game yet. It was ASH -vs- JSH.

I think team Eldredge/Thomson did the fastest boat prep on record.
When they called for CSR to get in the water I didn't have my motor on yet. Nic shows up with some help and had it done by the time I got my kevlar and jacket on. What a great help! Thanks Nic, Team Eldredge, and Team Pinner!

It's not fair that you guys are racin' and we're still snowmobiling on Lake DePue.

Sorry about that Steve, I got caught up in the CRS disase again, your effort should not go un-noticed, along with Joe Addiego, Blair Pontek, and Jose, what a terrific race to call. Everyone on the judges stand was in awe of that heat of racing, as at any given time you could have thrown a blanket over the four of you.

If it was half as much fun for you Steve in racing it as it was for me to call it, you must have had a ball.

              Sorry about the mix up,
              Ray

                45 Excitement

I was shooting from the Spectator area, and it was an exciting race to shoot, and one with lots of noise coming from the spectators! Great show guys!

                  Ray,

No need to apologize. I was being fecitious (getting 2nd when I shouldn't have. Only because Blair let up early). It was really good talking to you today and you did a fabulous job of calling all the races.

Are you going to call any other races this year?

                  Thanks,

                  Steve.

                      Thank you!!

As many of you know Lakeland was my son Joey's first APBA J race.
I can't thank everyone enough for their help, support, and patience.
It was great seeing how all the J drivers accepted Joey as soon as he got there. Joey had been sick all week, and with his muscle disease he was wiped out. He was too tired to run the four heats in a row, but did manage to get his Saturday heats in. He had a great time racing, playing football, and just hanging around with the J gang. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!

Thank you to everyone who has helped Joey along the way! Joey now understands what I mean when I say boat racing is just a big extended family and every race is like a family reunion.

Oh yeah, How about the announcer? He was outstanding! What a great job!

                              Thanks Jeff........

I can't get over the course you guys were on. I remember running Lakeland and just before the start hitting the throttle and pulling the pipes and not letting go until the checkered flag dropped. With the speeds you guys run, it is probably better for safety reasons, but there is nothing better than airing out a D hydro and having the hair on the back of you neck stand up............for days. Great video....enjoyed it all. Than ks
