  • Sharptown Input

    Fellow racers,

Our turnout for Sharptown was very low this year. As this is one of the last race sites in region 4, we would like to continue having an annual race.

So, if there are reasons you could not/would not attend (that the club could work on), please let us know.

Just to address one problem in the past, we started racing earlier in the day than usual and it seemed to alleviate the "bumpy water" problem. It also had the bonus of getting everyone on the road early on Sunday. We're going to continue this next year.

    Thanks,
    Sean

    Sharptown Races

My son Trevor and I had a chance to stop by Friday evening and were really impressed with the guys and how they work together. Nice equipment and a real dedication to the sport. Trevor and I feel the "desire" to get involved some day.

Keep racing as we enjoy watching, (and maybe someday can get involved).

Sean, hasn't there been another race up north most years recently?
This year there was one in Canada, I think in the past there had been one in NY once or twice. The date conflict thing bites us all.

Down at Wilson last year I spoke to drivers from down that way about coming to Sharptown, they were under the impression that all Region 4 courses were like Denton - short and tight. This myth needs to be dispelled. Sharptown may not be an extra loooong course, but it is by no means tight or short like Denton.

        Sean,
I've been to Sharptown twice since my comeback & I find this site to be a lot of fun, both to hang out at & race too! The race coarse is a good length & the electric clock is cool! You can not beat how friendly everyone is & the awesome chicken dinner Saturday nights. As long as you have Sharptown my team will be there!

          keep it going.

I know it can be frustrating as we have a few club races in our area that jsut never seem to get much support even though they are decent enough places to race at and are centrally located.

Hard to get some people to realize but without club races and a decent club schedule the sport will not exist.

          Good luck

I was going to mention that you should be banned from the pits in that red bikini but somehow you pulled it off. I would not have thought it but you got the legs for it.

I might try Sharptown again in the future, you never know. It is a long solo ride from Cleveland though. But if Denton ever comes back, I am 100% there.
