        My buddy

Like so many have said, this is a tough time for everyone that has ever known Travis. Some many fond memories as we raced against each other week in and week out in J. I still have my favorite picture of me racing hanging in my room as my big butt is crammed in my little boat and here comes that bright yellow 24-E boat right up next to me. I'll never forget you Travis.....you are truly one of a kind......Shawn

                From the Hagerl's

As of mother of children who are in their 20’s I cannot imagine the grief your family must be dealing with. Ever since Amanda called me Sunday morning I have been at a loss for words and those of you who know me probably find that hard to believe. Every time I read a post or see a picture I get torn inside. Yes, our extended boat racing family is very special. The Pond family should be proud of the wonderful memories Travis has given all of us. What I also need to say is that not only does boat racing give us a great extended family but it also brings our own families closer together. Those memories will carry you through these tough times and forever. All the time you spent together racing, preparing, traveling and sacrificing are what matters the most in family life. Our prayers and thoughts are with you now and always. The legacy Travis left behind will never be forgotten.

                  Travis

The past week has been kind of a blur. I've been looking for the right thing to say, but it's taken a while for me to get my thoughts together. There are no words that will do him justice. As I sit here typing this, I am still in shock. There are a million things running through my mind, but nothing to speak. Theres not much to say that hasn't already been said about Travis. I loved him, we all loved him. He was an amazing person. He lived life in the fast lane. He didn't care about what other people thought, and lived by his own rules. Thats part of what made Travis so special. He was genuine. And everyone recognized that in him.

I had the amazing opportunity to hang out with his friends from home for the past few nights while I stayed with the Ponds in VA. It is very comforting to me that he was the same person at home as he was at the races. Wild, full of energy, and loved. We stayed up all night for three nights straight telling stories, and by the end of the night, our cheeks hurt from smiling. Because thats what Travis made everyone do: Smile.

So, this is to you Travis, who always had a big smile on your face, always helping a racer/friend in need, and always making us laugh.

To you Travis, who started out at Lock Haven the "Wrong Way" and turned out to be one of the most competitive drivers in the country.

To you Travis, who was a brother, a son, and a friend.

The boatracing family will never be the same without him. He brought a smile to our faces, competition to the course, and always a fun time after the races were over.

Fortunately, we will never be without him. He'll always be there, on the race course, in the pits, and forever in our hearts.

                  To my friend, my brother,

                  I love you Travis

For sixteen years, you, Dom, Shawn, Rachel, Abby, Ryan and I grew up around this great sport together, and we've learned from one another. We would go all winter and not see each other, but at the first race in the spring we'd all pick up like it was yesterday. That redneck accent and goofy giggle will be in my memories for ever. I will see you someday my friend, keep a lane open for me. Greg Lyons
