Official CVRA Region 4 Testing Party

Would you want to attend a CVRA Region 4 testing party to be held in July or August? Either before or after the SO Nationals, but before Lock Haven, PA?

If there's one thing I can say about my racing season so far, is that it's been consistently inconsistent. I need more testing time, plain and simple. I've got a new class, a new boat, a new engine (with points to adjust), and no time to test on my own.

So I ran this idea by two other CVRA members during the "on hold" time at Curwensville, PA and got positive feedback.

We could choose between Denton, MD (Choptank River Yacht Club side or public boat ramp side) or Sharptown, MD. CVRA could supply the rescue boat.

Are you in? With a few commitments we could make this happen...

I went to Denton last fall on the public side and got run off by DNR. It seems a new speed limit has been put in place their and along with the jerks at the marina next to the yacht club it appears we may never be on the water again at Denton............

Sharptown is an interesting possibility.............

After seeing the problems you had at Sharptown, a good day of testing would work wonders. I'm sure we could help get your stuff fixed up in no time. I wouldn't be available before the nationals, but after might work.

You wouldn't be the only J there. My 9 year old son wants to get on the water in the worst way. Because of windy conditions at Curwensville, PA he lost his test laps at the end of the schedule which had been officially approved.

We need to learn the setup differences using Austin's AXSH as a J for Luke. After Luke gets comfortable running J on his own, do you know how you can help? You can run next to him - left, right, in front - so he gets a feel of what that's like. That would be a great experience for him. Are you willing?

mark merissa and loretta would like to get some testing time in as well. just need to know when it can be done. will it be o.k. to use the park overnite .

I need to contact the members of CVRA who organize the race at Sharptown to find out how we can ask permission to use the park and stay overnight.

It's also my intention to ask to use the CVRA rescue boat for the weekend which is why I'm calling it an "official" testing party.

With the recent feedback in this thread, maybe now's the time for me to start on this.

Testing Dates

Would August 19 and 20th work for the testing party at Sharptown?

That's two weeks after the end of the nationals and two weeks before Lock Haven, PA.

Known conflicts are a race in Alexandria, KY and the Antique Boat Regatta in Clayton, NY, both being held the same weekend.
