Destiny is a matter of chance,it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.

What is the reason behind the 'hard-line' registration policy. Seems to punish some racers? Mike Marshall, Raceboat 61-S

I will be there late thursday/early Friday

Got testing to do so I will be there early to fine tune the Cmod, and find what the Csh's setup is best.
Already cutting weight John so don't go there! LOL
I will be ready for registration Janet, and whatever the race committee needs
              me to do.
              See everyone Friday!

Read it again. Registration is indeed open Saturday, just not for racers that arrive on Friday. If you arrive Friday, you must register Friday.

That doesn't punish any racers. What it does is lessen the load on Janet Saturday morning.

the "hard line" helps racers . . .

Why wait and stand in a huge freaking Sat am line when you can get the deed done on Friday? Those who show on Friday and play with their boats but fail to register deserve any punitive measure the race committee can think of. Long after you walk away from the registration table the scorekeeper is plodding through piles of paperwork, so it helps to spread out the workload.

You show Friday, you refister Friday. E-Z breezy. I fail to see the problem.

                      Hey Mike,

This was a problem that developed over time.

All of our region 4 races had the benefit of being on sites where testing was available Friday. Sometimes, about 1/2 of the total entries would be testing Friday all day.

During this time, Janet or Linda would typically be in the pits reminding people that they could register at any time. Unfortunately, very few did register and the result was huge lines and paperwork on Saturday morning. It also sometimes pushed back the driver's meeting...then the start of the races...

So, with the new policy, we can get a lot of people registered and ease the burden on the race committee. Racing can start on time. And, like Bill says, it's a lot easier for the racers to get it done on Friday.

                      Sean
