  • 2006 Southeast Divisional Championships

2006 Southeast Divisionals for Stock/Mod/J Class
Pro classes (K Pro Hydro, 125 ccH, 250 ccH, 350 ccH) on the schedule

    Place: Wilson, North Carolina
    Date: April 22-23, 2006
    Club: Carolina Virginia Racing Association

Southeast Divisionals cover Regions 4, 5, 9 and 14 and will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006. Regular race on Sunday.

Race Circular is now available on the APBA Race Schedule web page.

Please note CVRA will not be mailing circulars as we have done in the past. Circulars will be emailed only so please pass the word to friends you know who do not use email. We have to pay $1500-2000 to rent this reservoir/lake in addition to the sanction and insurance fees, and mailing fees have increased this year.

On a personal note, I want you all to know that I post information as soon as I know it and when I know it is accurate. Please feel free to post any questions you have and I will get answers for you, or email me at jls@nixonvan.com, or call me at work 703-816-4032 or home 703-750-1778. Leave me a message if I don't answer and I will get back to you.

But please try to keep complaints to a minimum. Your race committee does a lot of work behind the scenes that most of you never even know about. We attend APBA Annual Meetings, Region and Club meetings, we work year round on club matters and paperwork for CVRA, storing and maintaining the equipment, trying to set up the schedule so that it does not conflict with anyone, running races, and trying to keep everyone happy and informed. Oh and did I mention also working full time and dealing with everyday personal matters in our own lives. We work for you on a volunteer basis and we do it for free. So a little show of support or an offer to help now and then would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time, and I promise I will keep you updated.

    Janet Stoy
    CVRA Secretary/Treasurer
    Chief Scorer for Region 4

    2006 Southeast Divisional Championships

Official start of the Southeast Divisional Championships Thread!
Located 4miles off of I-95 in Wilson NC.

Buckhorn Resevoir From I-95 south take exit 116 onto hwy 42west go approx
1/2 mile T/R onto Rock Ridge School Rd. go 4 miles crossing NC Hwy 581
T/L into pits (Sign at Roadside)
I-95 North same exit same directions.

    FAQ's
    Will there be testing Friday?
CVRA owns the Lake Friday thru Sunday and there will be unsanctioned,
uninsured testing allowed on Friday. Dennis and John are planning to
set up a course early Friday morning and hopefully have at least one tow
boat on site at our disposal, but testing is at your own resposibility.

Is there Camping in the Pits?
As of yet no, however there is a campground 2 miles away with full hookups
for RV's. I plan to contact them soon and will forward more information as it
    becomes available.
Until we learn how much room we need for pits and spectators I do not want to commit to camping in the pits.

    Spectators?
Yes, we have hired a promoter in the Wilson area to solicit sponsors and to advertise on radio, newspaper, posters, etc and inviting the public to come and enjoy two days of outboard racing thrills!
How far is the nearest Hotels?
Within 6 miles, less than 10 min. from the pits is a Holiday Inn Express, Jameson Inn, Comfort Inn, Microtel inn, and a Hampton Inn & suites.
I plan to contact them Mon. to find which one wants to be our Race Headquarters, and give us discounted rates. I could use a number of how many rooms I might need for you so please email me at dcat@starfishnet.com and give me some idea thanks!

Is this race Stock and Mod Divisionals?
Yes! we have requested to host both Divisional Championships that weekend!

    Anything else we should Know?
We are working on Sat. nights Drivers/Sponsors Awards Party to celebrate and recognize the Divisional Champions and our Sponsors.
We are working on having live remote from the local radio station.
We are working on getting some local television coverage as well.
This will also be a benefit race to one of the local youth organizations so
come out and support them as well.

There are other things in the works as well, and as more details are worked out and confirmed I or John Runne will post them here.
This could become an annual or Bi-annual event, and the city is looking forward to seeing our show. I hope everyone North and South is planning to attend, and with your help we can secure a new and excellent racing site for our future.
Look forward to keeping you updated on our progress in the coming weeks.
    Thanks,

                2006 APBA and Club Memberships

Please renew your 2006 APBA and club memberships ahead of time - it saves a lot of time and paperwork at registration if you come to the table with current cards in hand. APBA allows you to pay your membership by credit card.

Please make sure APBA has your current email address as we are not mailing circulars this year

If you need a 2006 CVRA club card, make check payable to CVRA for $20.00 and send to Janet Stoy, 7715 Bristow Drive, Annandale, VA 22003-5147. I will mail you a club card right away.

                  Make your reservations early!

I was able to get the rate for racers without commiting to a set number
of rooms, so I no longer need information on how many need rooms.
Just call the hotel direct and make your reservations.
Thanks for all the emails, looks like a lot of racers are interested in the new
site, oh and maybe the divisionals helps a little.
                  Thanks,
                  Dennis 21Z

Dennis this is Dave Rudik Loretta's poppop you lent her austin's kevlars at Denton MD. to get her first ride . I was wandering what the actual address was for the rase site in Wilson N.C. We are hoping to be able to bring her to the race. Loretta did well her first year and her sister Merissa decided to race also . The two girls are really looking forward to racing this year. So if you can post that address we can plan our travels . Looing forward to seeing you there. THANKS email @ weaknder@aol.com

                      No actual street address available

I posted directions in an earlier post, there is no street address
that I can find just follow the directions and you will have no problem
finding the site. It is one of the easiest to find sites I have been to.
Look forward to seeing you there.

                              Pit Access

When can drop-off trailers at the Pit area and when will the pits be secure? I may need to combine work and racing. Would prefer to go to meetings and drive around Raleigh without a boat trailer behind me!!

                              Thanks,
