Update from Wilson!

We had a long day here while waiting on all of the torrential rain storms. We did manage to get through two of our three sets. Thankfully, there were no major incidents. However, James Luce took a high flying ride this afternoon in our last heat of DMH when the boat blew over on the back straight-a-way. It knocked the wind out of him but I'm happy to report that he is just fine. Here are the results for today.

Thanks to Region 3................

Many thanks to Team Lyons and Team Earl and Team Luce for supporting our race. We had 2 days of great water and racing. The out of Region support is so important for us to make a go of it down here south of the Mason-Dixon line. Perhaps next year we will draw even more support!

I'm still drying out my equipment. Wow, did it rain for about 3 hours on Saturday. Inspite of the rain, we finished everything except for 3 classes Saturday. Sunday was awesome.

We had flag starts due to clock malfunctions, probably caused by drowning. All the drivers did a nice job with the flags except our J's. Miss America, Val saved the day as the pace boat.

The Saturday night barbecue and chicken was some of the best I ever had!
Kudos to who lined that up.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came to Wilson, and thanks to the race officials for all your hard work- Jerry Davids, Jerry Glass, Aimie Pond, Mark Ritchie, Ian & Dave Augustine- you guys made it happen, even with the ridiculous rainstorm that came through! Also thanks to everyone that helped out with other duties & the Judges stand- Hope & Nikki- I know Aimie really appreciated it.

Finally had a chance to go through all of this paperwork and finishing everything up to sent to APBA headquarters. Great job everyone for the getting all of our heats and classes finished on Sunday. Huge thanks to everyone who helped out this weekend! All scoring helpers were soooo appreciated especially through the rain on Saturday. Nicki and Hope...thanks for sitting it out all day both days through the rain, heat, and gnats! Also, Greg Lyons, thanks so much for helping me get everything together Saturday morning after the registration rush (and also thank to your mom for making you help her so you could learn)...and for all the other help you provided everyone in the pits this weekend.
