Some Photos from the Improvised Le Mans Start...

Many thanks to Steve Dunn, the CVRA, Captain Race Director and countless others! A great weekend of racing.

Due to clock problems, Sunday's races were run by flag starts and modified Le Mans starts. Great fun!

We made the most of a tough situation all the weekend. The turnout was frankly poor. We had 4 csr's which 2 of were mine, 3 dmr's ofwhich 2 were Bob Dunlaps' , 4 25ssr's of which 2 of were mine. We did have 7 csh's and 5
      20ssh's. I think there were 6 DMH's, 3 jsh, 4 bsh, 5 cmh, 4ash.

The weather was hot but no rain, little wind and nice. The clock died on Saturday which caused LeMans starts all day Sunday which I don't like but the show did go on.

Tabor City is a neat little race site. Steve Dunn busted his rear to put this on
and I really enjoyed the weekend. Those who like an old school race course with local people who are really glad we came, will like it.

My group had a good weekend. Herb Lanphear, Mark O'brian and myself had 4 firsts, 2 seconds and a couple of 3rds.

I wreck in CMH, a few bruises and splintered wood but all are well.

      Tim

Thank you Bob for my first ride in a DMR.

Awesome Weekend for weather, friends & FUN! I myself had a poor showing with a bad head cold-sinus thing once again, I even took it out on guys running multi-rigs without their own helper because they all think I'm in good shape to help all the time, they found out different, sorry guys for the Bye-Pollar(spelling?) response! I would like to Thank all the people that help to make this weekend happen, you know who you all are. Special Thanks to the Vanover boys, Eric & Austin, they didn't race but showed up & helped all weekend with the race, helped me many times & Eric even found my Hot Rod gear foot & prop I lost!!!!!!! I owe them a few good returns! Anyone out there have a drive shaft for a Hot Rod PM me PLEASE!
This is an awesome site just wished it was closer to my home! Tom Burwinkle nice pictures! I bet no one can guess the driver in the E-51, 20 H Beach Shot!
Hopefully I will make Roanoke Rapids in two weeks. Big Re-Group on my part or Big Sale!

            Tabor City

We had a great time this past weekend, even though it was a light turn out it made it a fun relaxed weekend. I think some of Danny P results may be off as there was some DQ's. Thanks to all the race committee and volunteers for making it a great race weekend.

                Results!

Here are the results from this past weekend. Sorry it's taken a couple of days, but I have been busy making up time at work. With the clock breaking down, it made my job a little harder because I had never scored Lemans starts or flag starts for that matter. But in the end, I actually ended up liking them better. I just wish I could've seen the action on the shore.

                  Congrats to Aimie Pond . . .

Great job on her first race as head scorekeeper. Wish I had a list of all the folks who worked the judges stand so I could extend thanks to them as well. Without those eager volunteers we could not have a race.

                    Thank you!

Thank you Aimie, Mr. Dunn, and all the volunteers, job well done! Will and I had a great time. The only down side was it seemed a little warm, just have to get my boat racing legs under me again.
I must apologize for not being of more help but with end of school activities crowding in it was all we could do just to make the race. We will try to be more help at Roanoke Rapids, school’s out and the whole family will be in attendance. We also owe big thanks to Uncle Dave and ‘Uncle’ Gary for on site race support.

                    Happy Racers,
                    Gary and Will Augustine

                      Race Director................

As Race Director i wanted to thank all the drivers/crew who cooperated in moving the race along at a quick pace. We had several heats left over to run on Sunday after lightning shortened our Saturday schedule. We managed to be finished up by 4pm on Sunday!! Great job everyone!

Hope to see everyone again at Taber next time!

Aimie- Thanks for posting everything-that was quick. Thanks to all the race officials, and volunteers that helped out this weekend.

I also wanted to say that the J's did an awesome job this weekend, you guys did extremely well with the flag starts on Sunday. Good job Wayne Adams (newest member of team whiffie)- first time in a boat, and first race- you did great.

Just wanted to thank everyone who helped make Tabor #3 a success. Always good when there are too many names to mention. Did anyone figure out who is running for pittman of the year? Thanks man!

                          Thanks again,

I need to make a correction for the results for 750CCMH on Saturday. Thanks, Cyndie for pointing out the error. That's what I get for rushing and putting them down before I double check everything.
