getting to lock haven may be an adventure

hi all,

i just found out from a member at church that there was a major truck fire on the ramp to 22/322 off 81 at harrisburg. the truck was carrying 5000 gals of diesel fuel. currently rt 81 north is closed from rt 581 to past 22/322. this is a mojor route for all of us traveling from maryland and south. he was telling me the detour around rt81 is taking truckers is taking 2 hours. penndot is having a news conference at 2:30 today(sunday may 12) with an update. if this is still an issue for the june race can anyone tell the people below the mason-dixson line another way to get there?

Pa tends to close roads for accidents, happend to me on the way to Lockhaven 2 years ago. The alt rt was 309 thu the towns & took a long time. 95 to Jersey & across to Pa on 78 or 80 would be your other way. Longer I'm sure.

11/15 north. 80 E to 180 to 220S, or 80 W to 220N. Good roads, scenic.

getting there from 81

I need to get on 11/15 from 81. last I heard 81 n was shut down at 581. I understand there is a way to get to 15 if I take the last exit before the bridge over the river, but with 81 shut down at 581 I don't know how to get there.

From looking at just maps, take the exit before 581 ,route114 north west, 1st right, then left, then right on Valley Road to 15 . If 81 is still closed before the race, I will take a recon trip on the GS, and scout a route. A buddy I ride with lives in Enola, and loves to berm in stopped traffic.

Local news as of last night "81 will be open in both directions, with some lane restrictions".

Yep, gonna be a detour for the 322 northbound ramp for a while. My buddy will check it out, see how backed up it is. He doesn't see any quicker route.
