Hi All!
For those not in the TORC/CBF loop, but are local... Just wanted to let you know you can get up close and personal with some race boats at the CME show at the Toronto International Centre on January 16-17-18.
www.CanadianMotorsportsExpo.com
The Toronto Outboard Racing Club Inc. www.TORCRacing.ca will have a booth there with two boats in it and lots of information on racing or building a hydroplane for fun or race. On display will be videos, safety gear, a Yamato racing motor, a 15 hp Evinrude powered wood hydroplane and a 15 hp Evinrude powered carbon fiber runabout. Talk to racers and builders in the booth.
Also on hand will be OPC/Tunnel Boat racers to field those questions and looking for people who would like to help out at this summers OPC races. For the Performance outboard crowd, on display we'll have the almost 400 hp #42 Speedmaster Marine F1 ChampBoat owned by Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame inductee Ted Gryguc and driven by Shaun Torrente, second place in 2008 on the Tour.
On Saturday:
Glen Stevenson, President of the Canadian Boating Federation, will be
hosting a free "Introduction to Powerboat Racing" Seminar at this
years CME show, Saturday Jan 17 at 3pm.
Discussion, Handouts, DVD/PowerPoint presentation and question period.

joining a club, starting a club or wanted to just know more, this is
your chance! Maybe you're just a fan who wants to learn more about an area
of the sport. Maybe you're a racer who has thought about changing divisions.
He'll cover all forms of powerboat racing and it's your chance to
listen in or ask questions.
Glen is also an inductee to the prestigous APBA Hall of Champions, a
multi time CBF Outboard Racing Champion, and current Inboard
Hydroplane racer on the Wetspot Hydroplane Racing Team.
On Sunday:
At 11am some of Boat Racing noteables will be on the CME/Inside Track Stage being interviewed and then signing autographs.
