  • Kingston, NH - 2012 Frost on the Water

For several years we have been told that we were crazy to think that we could host the first APBA race of the year with a New England event in November. Well the thermometer on November 24th says different. Stay tuned as we develope plans to host the first race of the 2013 season next fall/winter (?).

By the way, Nascar ran a race the day after Thanksgiving in 2001 and the temps were in the upper fifties. Trivia question - It was the first win for a Lowes Home Improvement sponsored Cup car. Who was the driver??

Bobby Labonte finished 3rd. The first time winner was driving the #31 Lowes Home Improvement car and the team donated their $200K purse to the the 911 relief fund.

Yes, you guys are crazy, but us southerners are trying hard. I have paddled ww kayak all winter long for years (Ottawa at Renfrow in Dec). So NH in November is no problem. Better be a big a$$ camp fire at night though. I'm in retail, so make it before black Friday, and I am in.

…62F with minimal snow cover and nothing but flat-calm today in Kingston!
No testing, but pits are wide open and Turn One markers are set.

                            That’s a cool photo!

...national weather service confirms it was 32F on that RaceDay Sunday (10-30-11)!

And today (10-26-13) it is RaceDay Saturday in Tabor City...where WeatherGal again reports a wakeup-Temp of THIRTY-TWO F!

It looks to me that the thermometer says 68F, which is downright tropical in my book!
                              What's the issue?
