Paul - would you please email the following to the SSOA membership ASAP. Thanks, Steve

Due to the Storm path of Hurricane Irene we have decided to postpone this weekends Haverhill River Run 2011 event. Many concerns were factored into this decision. We were assured of losing at least Sunday; Economically the Yacht Club could not cover costs with just a one day race; and if the Storm is as bad as predicted, the Yacht Club will need Saturday to remove boats from the Docks.

The Yacht Club is too gracious of a host for them to take a financial hit ane they were genuinely concerned about guys travelling to race just one day.

We have pencilied in October 1st & 2nd, subject to Coast Guard and Local permit approvals, as an alternative date for the event. We will keep you updated as this developes.

I haver alread sent updated applications to the US Coast Guard and the MA Envoronmental Police. E mail from the Coast Guard

    Mr. Goodwin,
I have received your updated application for the River Run and will pass along the information. I don't anticipate any problems with moving your event and will issue a new permit to you after it is approved. Thank you.
