  • Haverhill River Run 2009

This will be the "Official" thread to post daily updates on the Haverhill River Run 2009.

Information packets with the Race Circular were mailed last week to current Outboard members of Region's 1, 2, & 3. If you did not receive a packet, call, email, or pm me and I will answer any and all questions.

The Race will be August 22 & 23. The event will be sponsored by the Crescent Yacht Club. The CYC had previously hosted races in the late 50's and early 60's. We will be running a 3/4 mile river course with the first turn right in front of the pits. Access to the water will be via two paved ramps with a paved driveway leading from the Pit area to the ramps. The CYC has spent the past week clearing away 20 years worth of growth along the shoreline and the site looks great.

We have also scheduled a 21 mile Marathon for ASR, CSR, DSR and 25SSR to be run together with staggered starts. The course will be 4 laps of a 5+ mile route travelling under three bridges with two sweeping right handers. As indicated on the sanction, we will need 12 pre registered entries to proceed with the Marathon.

There will be a formal Trophy presentation at the CYC at 6pm Saturday after racing.

There will be no testing on friday.

    More information to follow daily.

Any questions, call 603-642-3100 or snoury@comcast.net

              Race site

How is the clean up work on the river edge coming? I understand the river is free of any junk on the banks after this years high water .

                            Course Layout

The City granted us permission to take a 20SSH out onto the River today to map out a course. Plenty of room to mill within our permitted area. 3/4 mile course with the clock situated in the middle of the straighaway. Equal distance from the milling to the clock and then from the clock to turn one. Turn one is in front of the pits. Clean up of pit area to be completed this weekend. Spectacular job by the Yacht Club members. Will post before and after pictures this weekend.

It is going to be a Drivers course, bring your "A" game.
