saturday near the end of the day, last class to run I believe, a 750-800cc capsule hydro, had a BAD fire. Brand new motor threw a rod and set the back on fire. I don't have any pics or really more info but someone else may have more info and/or pics. Also the driver was fine.

Yes the 700 capsule fire was wild. I never saw anything like that before. I was glad to see him jump out. I just dont think the rescue ortow boats were in any way prepared for that. Very slow reaction time. I know a couple of people were taking pictures of it. My son had a blast on saturday at his first race since he was 3, He helped Scott Clark and Reed. CSH and 20ssh were good races. AJ was really fast and who i think ran in 10 of the first 14 heats. I was really surprised on the turn out for the divisionals CMH 3 ,BMH 3,DMR 2,FEH 2 and DMH i dont think was even on the schedule. In FER/850 Luce is driving a missle with a turn fin. Dave Jones is running real good also.

Thompson 700 Pro Capsule boat fire

I took this photo just between the pits and starting line just after the driver jumped free from the boat. Flame was contained inside and under cockpit. Bellowing black smoke from fiberglass and epoxy. Fire within very intense.
