Does anyone have a good recommendation for a digital recording tach that will save the highest rpm turned and then can be reset for the next session?

We have had two tiny tachs with a 50% sucess. One never worked the other is still going strong. I would like to add that they have a 5 year battery and it is nonreplacable.

I have owned two tiny tachs myself. One worked about 15 minutes and locked up at 7620 rpm and the second never worked.

I also checked out another place called Digatron and they have a DT31 tach version for $230 but I contacted them a couple years ago and they said they would not work on our outboards. I don't know why but thats what they said.

I have the Mycron three and have used it for the last 4 yrs works great on the Mercs and Hotrods . the 4 is the newer version and can be had for around 325.00 if you shop around. I have the beacon with mine and can record lap times also and with the pc program it will put them in a graph using the kart oval program.

                        Mychron 4 all the way

Go with the Mychron...best money we've spent on racing equipment in a long time.

Talk to me about it at Eatonville.

I've used DT31 as well as other versions of Digatron tach's for years on outboards with great success. They are a great company with unmatched technical support. Not sure who you spoke with at Digatron but certainly the wrong person.

I used a Digatron. Seem to recall mine had RPM and head temp. Used it and abused for years, gave it away when I stopped racing. Call them again and ask for someone who is not a moron.
