I think the late Super-10 Wizards with fuel pumps we're 9/16" prop shafts........FYI, I just took a Wizard super-10 powerhead (1956?) apart and it has the mythical 20H crankshaft with a 4-pedal needle beering reed cage!!!!----MINT!!.....Had a Mark-25 8-pedal reed cage with the babbit style beering open'd up to the same bore as the 20H/Wizard needle beering reed cage and ready to add fiber reeds and assemble!!!!....also transfered the outer race pin to the mark-25 cage......SWEET!

      "beering"....hey I like that werd!.....5-o'clock....SOMEWHERE!!!!

She sure did run well that heat. Started having carb problems towards the end though. You can here the motor cut out coming out of each turn on the last lap. But still pulled out a win. Fun rig to drive!

The 31.8s have at least 2 types of exhaust casting in the block, the older's have a large plenum outside the ports & the newer a smaller passage down. The cover plate has water running thru on both so Id think for the sealed exit of exhaust & closing off the down side yes. Its probably better to separate the the exhaust before the stack for the tuned effect? Or would it work if you just ran a pipe thru the cover & blocked the bottom?

                Adapter plates

There seems to be alot of interest in putting an omc 31.8 onto a Merc' tower. With that in mind I decided to make some adapters. I'm set up to do stuff like that so I spent the last few days getting one dialed in. Maybe it will help to get the B-1 motor into the hands of more racers. If anyone has some input on this, that would be great.

Yes, a 22 thread to start with & alot of work has been done to adapt them to Merc's & Hot Rods, I've seen several racing & play versions. Not so with the 31.8 locally. I'm interested in both.. 22, the little engine that could 31.8, the big 'cuz that should.

Of Course, I Think I Know.....

Comsidering, this B-1 Bomber class is still pretty much and INTERNET RACING CLASS, why don't we combine the 22's and 31's let's write some rules......I tossed one very good 22 cuber away, with electric starter, when I "took/stole" the mid section for my DIY Outboard. I had another one that I gave to Amber Marine in Costa Mesa, with the understanding he would give me a clamp and saddle anytime I went through his bone pile....

I do have a fairly clean 31 incher and I also have one 302 gearcase.....

Let's write some rule or does NBRA already have rules for this class of motor (s).

I think there are but would need to confirm. The AOF? maybe the NBRA but not yet in the APBA.

with Alans adapter i plan to put an omc powerhead on one of my quickie towers...how different are the bolt patterns for the 22 and 31.8? i have a few of both so it doesnt matter to much but itd be cool to be able to use both.. it would be aweosme to be able to run in APBA with these things...i think im in region 1? ive gone to the taunton and thompson races a bunch
