A beautiful day matched a beautiful setting for the last round for the US Title Series here in the Tri-City area of East Tennessee.
Great turnout of boas, fans, and drivers made for a very pleasant day with everybody safe.
First stop was 125 runabout with Brad Deichert running away with a great run for him back to back to back. He clearly had speed on the rest of the drivers and used it to his advantage. A great three eights for Lindsey McGrath who is very steady and are driving and finished with enough points to take second overall. Third belong to a steady driving Brianna Payn
Next step with 350 Hydro with the national champion Amy Nydahl winning two of the three hates with Brother Kurtis taking the third heat to put his stamp on it with JP Jedwabny finishing on the podium and third.
next up was 250 runabout is Tim Small with back to back yeah does second-place finish to take it over Rich Krier and Jason Sailer. Jason won the third and final with Tim finishing second, Jason was unable to finish the first heat, it cost him dearly.
K-pro came up with Brady Brinkman trying to win both the national title and the High Point title, but unfortunately he was thrown out of the boat before the first heat started. He was uninjured, but by stopping the heat was unable to run the rerun.
Mackenzie Hellsten Took advantage of that and went on to win the first heat and then took the second heat as well. She'll lead into tomorrow's races with two first-place finishes, well Ethan Fox with a second and a third, well Cooper Thompson has finished third and fourth. Brady finish second in the other heat. Two more heats to run tomorrow.
125H was all David D-10E. Tenny all 3 heats of racing easily, is Pete Kelly had a lock on second place with three of those. While Will Hunter having come fro Canada to be with us, finished 3rd.
In 500 runabout Tim Small smoked the field in the first two heats. But the gremlins raise their ire in the third heat and it found Tim sitting on the course.
That opened the door for Pete Voss Who it finish second in the first two heats went on to win the third one and take the title overall. What a great run for Pete and we congratulate him and Tim Small who finished second, while Chris Hellsten, driving for Thirlby Automotive finished third. It was great to see Andrew Thirlby back in a boat after his accident at the Depue.
A good day of racing a few flips nobody hurt and we're ready to go tomorrow.
