Re: USTS Round 2 Pleasant Prarie Wisconsin May 23-25

As Memorial Day looms on the horizon, preparations begin for the Midwest run for the USTS as we are set for the 2nd leg of the USTS schedule at Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. This is one of the finest facilities for us to race at as we prepare for the USTS Nationals at Depue, Illinois later this year. In addition to Depue, PP, we will add Winona, Mn, and Constantine, Mi to the Midwest swing later in the year.

Pleasant Prairie is a city owned lake just over the Illinois border north of Chicago and we are able to control the water completely and have some great water to race on. We are looking forward to just a little warmer weather than last year, but the fans turned out last year and our awards ceremonies were well attended.

The racing at Winter Haven was hot and heavy with local Amy Nydahl, from just down the street from Bristol, WI, taking the 250 and 1100H categories to be in attendance. She will be joined by brother Kurt to add to the Nydahl family fun.

Amy was joined by Tim Small in the 250R and the 350R out of Florida, and Ike Yoder from Michigan will all join in the fun. Ike took both the 500H and the 350H titles at WH and all look forward to adding to their point leads they currently hold.

We had three young women including two rookies hit the water in K-Pro down at WH and our 2013 National Champ, Brianna Payn showed she will be tough again this year as Brianna took all 4 heats of racing in their division and McKenzie Hellsten and Brittany Wright showing well in their debuts.

Drew Thirlby picking up where he left off last year in the 500R as he won all three heats at WH will be on the water to test the 500R group, with the National Champ, Jared Gryskiewicz having registered for both 500 and 700R. That means that Jared will have to not only hold off Drew in the 500R, but will be joined by Drew's Dad Mike in 500r, but Mike will do battle in that brand new Derek Gesler built 700R as well, where he took the title at WH.

We will welcome Russ Wright and his daughter Brittany who have joined in with th Thirlby race team, as this new to racing family had a very successful first stab at this great sport!!! Welcome to the Wright family.

We are excited to see the racing season kick off in full tilt now and we should see some exciting racing coming up.
