I have been checking our motors for the Nationals and wonder about the A omc steering bar .WTF ? the Merc has a nice aluminum bar from BMT, bolts washers and clevis pins can be had easy - peasy . The OMc requires . grade 8 , grade 5, Nylock nuts, cotter pins, safety wire and a degree in Cluster engineering to under stand . Also the merc gearcase mounts with 60 cents worth of Mc master grade 8 bolts and the same gearcase on the OMC takes $ 18.00 worth of special order bolts. And on the boat numbers -- How about : must be readable by scorers ... 4 words not 4 paragraphs .. Time to figure out how to make the new DSH Bass/ Tohatsu tower leagal ...
