  • Final Retirement Sale - Complete PRO 250ccH Equipment Package Deal

    I have a composite hydro PRO Class hull and GRM race-proven O-250 motor to sell. This PRO hydro equipment has consistently placed in the top three race finish podium positions at Pacific Northwest SOA/CORA 350ccH races in past race seasons.

    I will sell my fully-rigged Karelsen composite PRO 250 hydro hull (that has been updated to 2014 UIM cockpit reinforcement requirements & designed for 250cc motors) and equipped with Euro controls and a custom rear Mostes cowling for $1,800, firm. I will sell the hull without rear cowling, Euro hand throttle, and large fuel cell for $1,400, firm. The modified hull has a professional painter-applied high grade epoxy paint job (two very thin coats). Hull-only sale includes the original aluminum fuel tank and boat cart I received when I bought it. The hull is in excellent condition. The composite center box structure has been modified by Larry Darnielle to open cockpit O-250 standards. None of the original Karelsen hull bottom and sponson design features have been modified.

    Payola-designed boat cart: $275.

    I am also selling a complete, totally rebuilt 250cc Rossi motor head, Tietze tower, Rossi 11:15 gear case, & two OEM straight pipes (unmuffled) for $4,000. The carburetors have been rebuilt for top performance.

    NOTE: These racing equipment sales prices do not include shipping and handling fees, if required.

    This 250cc hydro setup has over 10 years of motor & hull setup improvements (and overall updated performance "tweeks".) The complete motor rebuild is done right (new crank shaft, bearings, hi-tech rings, etc.) There is only one racing heat on this motor.

    No trades -- cash talks.

    This APBA PRO Class boat racing equipment is located in SW Washington. You must arrange for your own transportation/tow vehicle and trailer to relocate the hydro hull from Southwest Washington (Kelso/Longview area) to your new home storage site.

      Al do you have a lower unit in your sale items that is not part of the complete motor set up? I am looking for a unit for a restoration project.

    No, I only have the gear case with 11/15 gears for my rebuilt GRM 250 motor. I want to sell them with the Rossi motor (unless I can sell the complete powerhead separately.) I sold all of my spare Yamato and Rossi gear cases and a new spare Rossi gear set. I think I might have one set of new PRO Yamato gears with new bearings and seals left for the vertically split Yamato PRO gear cases, but no more empty gear case shells in my parts box -- sorry.

      What ratio on the Pro gears and price on gears bearing and seal. I bought your case several years ago.

        My lowest price for a partially-outfitted hull "package deal" is still firm, as advertised. The asking price does not include transportation arrangements and costs to the east coast, or anywhere else. The hull was custom-designed by Ed for a PRO 250cc motor. I have never crashed it after many races. I am the second owner of the excellent hull that Ed Karelsen designed and then built with the help of the race boat's first owner. It is a unique hull design that is race-proven. It is one of a kind.

          Larry M. - I think the new Yamato gear set is a 12:14 ratio, but I'll need to double check the ratio. It is the standard gear ratio that came with the 1989-90 OEM Yamato 250cc motor gear cases from Japan. The gears and bearings are all new, old stock gear case hardware. I want $250 plus shipping for the new bearings and gear set (for use in a Vertical-Split Yamato PRO case.) I will post a picture of the the Yamato 250cc motor gear case hardware here when I find them again in the shop. I will look for them tomorrow. I just saw your message tonight...
