The pictures should of this years winners of the Nationals in those classes saying the 2007 winners. Someone has a picture of all those as they gave them to the drivers as a trophy. Come on Mary Ellen were are you when i need you. Amanda GET_ER_DONE!!!!!! Just my thoughts!!!!! Mikey

Sort of an update

just to update people and stuff:

I have obtained some more racing footage from some people. Yes I got permission to use the footage. I also recieved the helmet cam footage and Wayne had talked with Pete earlier in the week and I have the rights to use the footage for the promotional video. Other than that, everything is progressing nicely.

Mike is onto something also. It might be cool to do a small video montage of still photos from the race. (set to some cool music naturally)
I too would like to see all the photos of the winners and everyone who showed ( 1st thru 4th place). Whatever you decide...just a thought.

You're doing a great job Lee. I'm sure however it turns out will be a hit!

PS, Hey Mike! I was right! My turn fin is crooked! No wonder why my boat was so squirrelly and wouldn't turn!

An update

Hey folks,

Been a while since I've been on here. Anyways, I just thought I'd let ya'll know that the Promotional DVD is about done. There are 2 video's plus some extra content that will be on the DVD. The 1st video deals with footage from the past which I have to say is pretty awesome watching these old footage and the 2nd video is obviously featuring highlights of the 2006 and 2007 races.

Basically this DVD is a highlight reel. The videos are already edited. I'm also in the process of editing a new commercial and a movie style trailer to add to the DVD. I will also be uploading the new commercial and trailer onto youtube once its all completed. All footage featured on the DVD has been provided by Bob and Nick Ladd, Wayne Blomberg, Pete Schawb and me when I had a chance to shoot some video with my Canon GL2 in 2006. Here are some screengrabs of the project at hand:

I made a test DVD to see how well the old footage looks considering all of the old footage was on VHS and the quality looks awesome on TV. Even played the DVD at my buddies house on his 62" widescreen TV and it looks sweet! It won't be long until this DVD is complete and sent off to the Speed Channel.

Anyone who has raced in the Top O' Michigan Marathon, I need pictures of yourself. I need 800 x 600 or higher resolution images for use in the first 14 seconds of the commercial that I am doing. I prefer to have portrait shots but if you don't have any thats fine. Just as long as you, the racer, is in the picture.

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but I'm still sorta' waiting for somebody on the race committee to give me some encouragement about the question that I posed several months ago on this thread. Restated: I have several (5 to date) racers that want to run our Mark 20H's in next years 60th anniversary Marathon. We are current APBA short course racers. We think that Stock Classic would be a great promotion for this coming historic race. I think that I can get more 20H drivers and perhaps a few KG-4, Mark 30 guys, too. While it may not be possible to run as National Championship (there is none for Stock Classic) we would like to race our old stuff ! Noise might be a problem with our 20H's but gosh, we ran them for years. It's only 1 hour on 2 days out of 365 !! Mike Afholter.....where are you ? We need some help.
