Lake racer motor size for 25SSH boat.

I'm still plucking away and getting closer to finishing my boats(two Fralick 25SSH, 35") so I am starting to look for motors. Origninally I was thinking shortshaft 25HP Johnrude, what kind of weight should I be looking for? I don't want to kill myself or find my boat at the bottom of the lake but I want to go fast.

What kind of speed should I expect out of the average 25HP shortshaft fishing motor? 30-40MPH?

Any reccomendations for a type of motor that fit the following.
a) I need two of them
b) fairly affordable
c) fit the weight range for a 10'3", 35" boat
d) not impossible to find
e) maintainable

I am open to all makes and models.
