Cut suits

Hey everyone
does anyone know the rules on cut suits?
my friend is starting his rookie year this season and is having a hard time finding a cut suit. we thought that a kevlar gokarting suit and a racing lifejacket might be legal? im not sure. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I believe that the ruels are you have to wear a cut suit. It is the drivers reponsibility to insure that it will perform, same with helmets. Althought the referee can thow you in the water to see that you floatation device will float you.
