  • Antique outboard motor meet at Constantine Michigan

Just talked with Pete at the Legion and all is still set for the outboard meet on July 10-11. While it is big as far as outboard motor meets go it is far smaller than the numbers that show up for a race so we are well within the state guidelines for the event. While masks are recommended, we are leaving this to the individuals themselves as they see fit. A lot of the activity is way beyond the 6' distancing.

There is a huge swap area with all sorts of parts, a large display tent for restored engines as well as set water times for running everything from tiny little fishing motors to large pleasure craft and even a few slots for racing boats. Come on over and take a look around. You never know what you may find. It is also a chance to help support the Legion that does so much to support racing at their venue. With the shutdown that had them closed for a couple of months every burger you buy helps them out. They are doing the steak dinner outside on Saturday evening, so if you will be there and want to grab one, let me know ahead of time so they can accommodate the request.

The host chapter of the AOMCI has made the decision that nobody who didn't actively participate in the meet on Friday or Saturday will be allowed to show up and test on Sunday. This is an antique outboard meet and not an open test session. Pete said that there will be no exceptions to this as they no longer allow the testing like they used to in order to help keep the peace with the neighbors the best they can.

    Steve
