Week Six: White Flag!
Our Winter Project is clearly on the White Flag lap, as today we trimmed, sanded and filled deck edges, drilled and fit hardware, and added front center decking (it was decided this was needed to keep water from running underneath the fiberglass cowling).
Seams were sealed and gaps were filled with "thick glue", decks were sanded, and pickleforks were radiused. Some of the builders are adding deck traps ("fences") while some elected not to.
Next week, we will attach fiberglass cowls, do any final touchup sanding and filling, then apply sealer to the decks. A couple days dry time after that, and then people will be able to take their new boats home and complete painting, varnishing, etc.
