The 20SSH/CSH that were sanctioned to run this weekend at Quake on the Lake in Waterford, MI will be cancelled (the entire race is NOT cancelled, just the SO's racing there).
This decision was made by myself and other integral MHRA members involved in the Grass Lake Nationals. It was made for 1.) the sake of the Grass Lake Nationals and our dedication to making sure it is a well-run event, and 2.) over half of the attending 20/C drivers are on the Nationals race committee - with which we have work to do regarding the running of the Nationals this weekend.
There is a good chance that we will be able to be put on the sanction for next year, and if we're lucky Trenton will not conflict... but regardless, it would be ideal to put on a full field race of 8-12 stock outboard rigs to fully give the feel of our style of racing (not 4-5) - especially at an event such as this, which receives such a large attendance. As racers we need to understand the importance of promotion during the summertime at large events - not just points.
