A big THANK YOU!
I just wanted to say thanks to all that attended this years Great Lakes Challenge in Constantine, MI. With the price of gas and so many races around to choose from, it was a pleasant surprise to have such a strong turnout. A strong contingent from Region 7 once again make the trek east as well as some support from our Three Rivers friends to the south. I can't forget to mention the IOA who came out to once again show why we've added a few modified classes to the schedule. Lastly, I have to thank our "long haulers" - Matt D'Agostino w/ Cupcake 1 and 2, Jerry Oberlin and his son, Vicki and Skipper Smith and Mrs. Kiddy who drove the enclosed trailer up behind the diesel van to bring son's Joel and Andrew to race with us.
MHRA also had 4 rookies taking to the water and all of them showed excellent potential after only a few races. Ryan Welling in JH banged and few starts and can't wait for his new ride to be complete to really "do battle", Karl Armstrong - put his ASR up in the top 3 for quite a while, Elek Hutchinson ran 3rd in his elim in ASH and netted a top 5 overall and Bob Ford our last rookie who is racing in the very tough CSH.
There were also 2 racers making their first ever race - Kelsey Robertson (JH) and Mitchel Datson (JR). Welcome aboard!
