      Region 2 tough guys

A few tough drivers I remember when I started in the early 60's Bobby Vega DSH, Dick Rebesher DU, Dave Curtis BU, Fred Nelson AU. They were tough to beat on any course on any Sunday afternoon, the days of one day races and $3.00 entry fee's.

                          John

I stink at racing a boat. Better at fist fights, and full contact football.

                              Jimbo McConnell Story

Pretty much true, except it was my brother's late wife who signed Jimbo up. Jimbo had sold his motorcycle for $254 and thought he'd try boat racings. My brother's wife, Judy, said, "You need $25 bucks to race.."

Jimbo is playing with jeeps and doesn't seem to want to come back to boats. though he did say, "His Sid Craft would beat any of these C Hydros today, just put a Yamato on it..."

Here is Jimbo helping me install a REFRIGERATOR at my daughter's river house, Tuesday night!

This is my take on this thread...I'd hate to tangle with these young bucks!

Top picture is Jimbo, and Jim Harris and C Runabout Dave Bryan...
Bottom picture is my newly purchased LTV, MOD VP boat

                                Talked to Jimbo Today...

He heard that one of Ernie Dawe's C Hydros won some NBRA Championships. The square nosed Dawe boat was designed by Jimbo. Jimbo had 21 design changes for the next boat, but Gary Lewis never bought another Dawe Boat....

Ernie is building me 16 new boats....Keep an eye on E-Bay.

He's been gone a long time, but Billy Jack Rucker Sr. was fun to race with. He didn't give you an inch, but he didn't take an inch. We beat each other many times, and never had harsh words.

                                Billy Jack could drive!!!!
