Boat Racing Cookbook - Great Christmas Gift!

The cookbook is complete and we can fill orders in time for Christmas gift-giving! We received approx. 135 recipes from all over the country. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who contributed their recipes. We could not have done this without all of you.

Nina Augustine did an awesome job compiling the recipes and designing the cookbook. Pat Augustine created a fantastic cover. Mary Williams graciously donated her time and materials for the color cover. I will be the copying/binding/shipping queen for the next few months.

Cookbooks will be sold at the National Meeting in January, but for those of you not able to attend, we can mail cookbooks to you. All proceeds go to the J Scholarship program being developed by Sheri Runne and Jill Glossner (Region 3). Sheri, Jill and I decided it was easiest for everyone to send me their checks and return addresses so I can ship the cookbooks. I will turn the funds over to Sheri and Jill later. Order as many copies as you like.

Sorry but this is the 1st time veiwing this thread. I should have been veiwing sooner.

This is a great J scholarship concept! Thank you Sheri and Jill!!!

Region 7 established the Doc Wilson College Scholarship Fund at the MKE Annual meeting. We have had 3-4 members recieve funding so far. Our Local clubs have agreed to keep the funding going to date.

Currently Tad Olson and Dee Berghauer (R7 Chair) lead this annual project.

The books are 75 pgs each (150 pgs total printed double-sided) with a cover that has a great color photo on it, and spiral bound with a protective clear presentation cover on top and a presentation cover on the back. They were going to cost $4.80 each to send them priority mail (they weigh too much to qualify for cheaper first class mail) so I sent Dave Howard (works for the postal service) in search of a cheaper alternative.

We can ship them as media mail. 1 cookbook shipped in 1 envelope costs $2.25. 2 cookbooks shipped in 1 envelope (that's the most I can fit in one envelope) costs $2.60.

If you would like to include shipping costs, that would be great, but you don't have to. I volunteered to pick up some of the initial shipping as my donation to the project. So feel free to take advantage of the early bird free shipping deal!

Anyone who will be attending the Region 6 spring awards banquet and wants their cookbook then, please let me know and I will hold it for you and deliver at the banquet.

Our initial printing is 250 copies of the cookbook. We will be selling them at the national meeting and at APBA events and races after that until they are gone. So if you want to reserve some and receive them later, let me know how many and what race/event you want them delivered to and I will see what we can do.

Wow!

The USPS delivered my cookbooks today. They look GREAT! The cookbook crew, Nina Augustine, Pat Augustine, Janet Stoy, and Mary Williams, deserve a huge round of applause. I'm sure Ian Augustine, Dave Augustine, Sr., Dave Howard, and Jeff Williams deserve a cheer as well. I'm guessing they served as crew support.

If you haven't ordered your cookbook, get on it! Might want to join a gym as well. I forsee many feasts in my future - gotta work of those tasty calories

You should get them in plenty of time. Media mail is getting delivered really quickly, so I wouldn't pay the extra for priority mail. I've been shipping cookbooks out the day after I get the checks so turnaround time is really fast. Thanks for your very generous order!
