      Date Change?

At Hammond this weekend, I asked a number of drivers if they would attend this race (obviously PRO drivers). Most thought that the date was in October and several said they had not heard about it. This includes Region 5 drivers that should attend the event.

      Better spread the word quickly.

I believe the original date was October. However, since the cancellation of Cambridge and to not conflict with Raleigh, Peace River has moved the date.
William Tetro, Tom Cronk and Bob Dunlap are at the site in Georgia today finalizing everything.
Hopefully they will also raise some good money. They are working very hard on making this a good race and well organized. It will be fun to win an AOF national championship while also getting points in APBA.
This is just a preqrequisite to Pineville, LA in March for the APBA Winter Nationals-AOF sponsored.

Please be advised that the above post is inaccurate. I am in my office in Savannah all day today. I am not involved and can't take any credit for the fund raising or pre race activities for the Jesup event. Please refer all inquiry's regarding this to Tom Cronk or Bill Tetro.

Thanks Bob. Tom said he was meeting you today, but did say that you have been a big help. It is always nice to have some big races near home, especially with the price of gas.
I am sure that Bill or Tom will have some reports for us after today. It also looks like other sites are opening up in Northern Florida area that will soon have some races. Thanks to Marshall Eldredge, Carl Staron and others for helping bring about more local racing for your area.

              Add

You will not have to be an AOF member to participate in this race. However you will need to be a member to become an AOF national champion. AOF will pick up the bill for the one day APBA memberships for those who will be coming to race only the AOF nationals, as all racers will need to be members of APBA. I am sure that the APBA sanction will be out soon for this race.

Marshall and Carl, take a look at Lake Bradford in Tallahassee. Could be a very nice site with plenty of pit area and usually extremely calm due to tree line coverage. The public access to the lake is run by Florida State University.

This is where I test - five minutes from my house. Very controlled lake, with only four boats allowed to be launched from the public boat ramp allowed on the lake at any one time. $10 per launch, $5 if a student is with you - life guards on duty who just happen to have a tow boat handy.

I must be crazy telling all about my secret test site, but I learned of the lake by accident when following a high-powered telescope link posted last year on hydroracer.net.
