  • Travis' Obituary and Info

This is Aimie, Travis' sister. This has been a terrible shock and my family is just sticking together and trying to stay strong. Here is the obituary that will run in the paper tomorrow. I have also included some links and the phone number to the hotel that will be expecting our out-of-town guests. We thank you all for the phone calls and e-mails and especially the pictures. Abby and I are compiling some pictures for a slide show and if anyone has any good ones, they can be e-mailed to me at aimiep19@verizon.net. We are stressing that flowers should not be sent. Please make a donation to your local Mothers Against Drunk Driving chapter, instead. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers and we hope to see you all soon at the next race that we are able to make.

Travis Burleigh Pond, 22, of Midlothian, VA, went to a better place to be with the Lord Sunday, October 1, 2006. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lorraine Burleigh. He is survived by his parents, Marsha and Gary Pond; two sisters, Aimie and Abby Pond; brother, James Parker; maternal grandfather, James P. Burleigh Sr.; fraternal grandparents, Cecil B. and Raymond E. Pond Sr.; and many other loving family, friends, and extended APBA boatracing family. Travis was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved to hunt and race boats. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to MADD. Online condolences may be made: www.blileyfuneralhomes.com.
