What size course do you run there? Will the NAC for 750 be Saturday or Sunday?

      Keith,
It's about 3/4 mile with a nice big first turn.
      Fun race course.
      Hope you can join us!

Is there room to park the motorhomes at the race site?

      • #5
There is some motor home parking close to pits, The over flow will be parked else where in the city we are still working out the details with the city.

We are expecting more motor homes then normal do to divisionals weekend and will have enough motor home parking figured out by race weekend

We as a club will not allow anyone to race with the recalled Simpson / Voyager 2 helmet, so if you have one of these get it handled before Pell Lake.

I will update as more facts come in.

Heard from other racers that Simpson repaired the helmet defect and sent back the updated helmet with paper work of some kind. so as we get more facts I will update this on if we will allow the factory repaired helmets to be used.

            Darryl,
Just called the hotel. They're saying $109 is the Racer's Special. Perhaps there is a disconnect??
Not that it makes a difference, just wanted to point it out.

                    Helmet update:
Looks like this helmet wont work for racing.

Make sure to check all your equipment. I will be going thru the pits and the Inspectors will be checking what your wearing and racing.

I think I remember one year where the club truck did not show till later on Friday morn, and last year the tester's waited for the ambulance. So, when will the club truck be there for set up as I will be there early [ and it needs to be stressed help is needed for set up , to get the testing program started ]. Also should be pointed out testers do not get 4 hrs of actual testing for the $20 or $30 bucks as the time is split up for different classes. Depending on when set up get.s done and the ambulance getting there and able to stay. Probably closer to 45 min or 1 hr. actual [ if every thing goes well ]. And of coarse there's the weather factor.. So if I have miss stated here please correct for all interest's.[ in a respectful manner , of coarse ].

                        Rod,
                        Thanks for clarifying.

We figure it costs more money to drive someplace to test, so the 30 bucks is a very good deal.

The earlier everyone gets there, and the more help everyone provides, the sooner we can get on the race
                        course.

See you in a few weeks!

                      SIMPSON HELMET RECALL UPDATE

Simpson customer service is recalling SA2015 Voyager2 helmets made and sold by Simpson, manufactured in 2016. The chin strap may detach from the helmet during an accident, making the helmet useless in that situation. Per APBA member Kris Shepard, if it has a yellow chin strap the recall needs to be done. If it is black it is OK.

The entire recall notice is at http://www.apba.org/sites/all/files/...2017ap0617.pdf
