Mychron Bracket: It's designed to be easily removed with a screwdriver. The dash bracket stays in your boat and the gauge and post are removed. Fits Mychron 4 and 5 Tom Cronk stocks these or you can buy direct.

Hope it’s ok here for a quick question. With the mychron 5, is there a special wire needed to extend the lead for the rpm to the spark plug? The one that comes with it is way too short for the Yamato? Can I just solder an extension on?

Harold, the Tach lead is just 18 gauge copper wire. You can find at most hardware stores. Soldering an extension may increase the resistance, I would just replace it.
