  • JESUP WINTER NATIONALS 2019........THANKS HOWIE and PETE NICHOLES.

Thanks to Howie and Pete Nicholes (also Nuch, Blackwood, Romberg, RC etc etc) for all the effort in putting the WARM 2019 Winter Nationals together. Great weather, water, food and a wonderful race course highlighted the 4 day gala! If you missed it put it on the calendar for 2020. It was cool to see some of the NBRA racers in attendance. Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee were well represented

I've said it before and will say it again...this is a premier race site and a first class event. You can't ask for a better way to start the season. Thanks to all who worked to put it on.

The Antique Pro racers would like to thank Peace River for putting us on the schedule. This is our second visit and we all had a ball. Great weather and beautiful course. Couldn't be better. Thanks to all.

Nice appreciative post, Dave. It's hard enough to persuade a club to add the Antiques to an already packed schedule of the usual Stocks & Mods.

Here is my 8pm Jesup, Georgia picture of "Smoke on the Water" after racing on Friday April 5th... someone was drying out an engine on shore about 5 minutes prior to this picture. The lake was glass after racing and stayed smooth into the night.

Next picture is new JH driver Mason Johnson from Milton, Georgia... Mason is new to racing around a course but he got 3rd place last summer in JMR at the Top-O-Michigan race (with an Austin J and Johnson 15A engine). In the picture, he is sporting an untouched, stock Mercury engine that was a fishing motor two weeks earlier and got the Brown Tool & Machine APBA kit installed along with the 1987 Johnson 15A gearcase (fresh back from Ron Thomas). The O'Connor hydro "9-A" was new to Mason on Thursday. Formerly Maine racer Jack Cavanaugh, then belonged to Larry Roberts for grandsons Quin & Eli. Thanks to Pete Nichols for the 9-A transport to Jesup!! Hoping to see Mason & his dad, Brent both race the 2019 Top-O Marathon in August and again at the Tabor City, NC race in October. I think Shannon had a " Smoke on the Water' BSH in the 70's. A ' Smokie ' too.
