  • THUNDER ON WOLF CREEK#4

Thunder on Wolf Creek is scheduled for June 24-testing(noon till 5pm), testing 9am till 11am on June 25. Races start at 12:30. Sunday races start at 12:30. The Park has been improved with a $1.200,000. Increase in parking lots and ramp improvements. This is the home of the 2016 Bassmaster Classic fishing tournament. We have great crowds and a loyal sponsor in the Grand Lake Casino. One interesting thing, our testing of mod. Motors on Friday announce the race, as the race is in the town. The town has had a history of boat racing, having had 17 races on the Wolf Creek arm of Grand Lake. The Oklahoma Boat racing Association is the conducting club and sanction by the National Boat Racing Association. The NBRA is a racing organization that promote both modified and stock racing boat racing.
Our referee will be the famous Burnin Vernon, the friendly boat racer well known for his acknowledgment of the crowd on the bank. He is a past winner of the NBRA's High Point Championship as the driver of the Predator Race Team. His main pit crew is his wife Patty.
Our announcer will be Ray Rodda, the voice of exciting boat racing. We have a great web site Thunder on Wolf Creek.com and face book page. This site is one of the best places to race with wonderful facilities and room for your stuff.

This is my 18th year to put this race on, however there was a 30 years between the first 14 and the last 3. Great crowds that understand our sport.

One of the cool things about the race at Grove, is we have a large clock that is faced toward the crowd. They known when the races start. See the face book page, Oklahoma boat racing association for a look at our spectator clock. Our new Alzetec has a 24" spectator clock too.

Go to NBRA's web site and see its promo video which was made a Wolf Creek Park. The video was paid for by NBRA and arranged by Anglea Good of Grove, ok. 42 trailers were at that race and the park can accommodate 1000 cars.

Thunder on Wolf Creek will have a Classic Car show on Saturday June 25. If approved by the city we will have venders in the Park. We hope to spend $2,000 to $4,000 on advertising. The source would be the tourism board that controls the motel tax. This source is the most common funding for events such as the races in the Mid West.
