  • Tragedy at the Kent Narrows, MD race

I was watching the news after returning from a race at Berwick and saw that seven people were injured and one child was killed at the race at Kent Narrows, MD. Let's say a prayer for those who were involved.

I looked for info on the accident. Not much about what class (said Grand National in one small clip) Any news of what happened? Article said that the spectator boats were allowed up to 40 yards of the race course, which I have a real hard time believing. I'm sure that it had to be a freak accident. If anyone knows what really happened you can PM me. I'm helping with a new event next weekend and I would like to have information for the sponsors (if they ask). Thanks, Bryan

          bryan,

nothing has been released yet on the accident. all they are saying at this time is the driver lost control. they did have the spectator boats close, one of the race officials did not answer how close when asked. as soon as they release something I will post. the local news stations are still covering the story. the fund me account set up for the family has over 34,000 donated.

Thanks Frank, I am so sorry for the little girl and her family, and to the people that were severely injured. I just KNOW that "the spectator boats were positioned just few yards from the race course" has to have been incorrectly reported by the media. No way would any of us put our fans in any kind of harms way.

We were at the event and all proper safety precautions were in place..............continuing to talk about this on Hydroracer or any other social media is pure conjecture and not in anyone's best interest until all the facts are revealed. Just saying!!
