  • Photos from Lock Haven, PA - 2014

Some racers just get it. In the first photo below, the driver may have recognized me but I believe he saw a *spectator* with a camera.

ADDED: The driver told me the following day that he didn't recognize me and that he was just "waving to the crowd". My point is made.

In honor of all the photographers who showed me the way to the bridge, including KB, the bridge sets below are for you.

I've posted 24 photos from Saturday's racing at Lock Haven, PA. Quite a few spills Saturday but no injuries that I am aware of.

I've posted 12 photos from Sunday's racing. Again, more spills Sunday but no injuries that I am aware of.

The soft sell >> I charge $20 for a licensed digital photo file and $30 for a licensed 8-inch by 10-inch photo print. The digital file is high resolution and (uncropped) will print any size comfortably up to poster size. BEST VALUE >> $100 for a DVD of ALL original (untweaked) photos for one driver regardless of the number of classes run that weekend.

I invite other Lock Haven, PA photographers to post their best shots in this thread and to provide links to their Lock Haven, PA 2014 photo collections.

I'm not even going to attempt to identify drivers in my photos. Some are obvious, of course. But having sat through roll call today, what hit me was how many drivers were not driving boats with their typical numbers. So I'll let others supply a positive ID.

I'm only posting a few now from Sunday. LOTS of great photos taken from the bridge. I *almost* got at least one good picture of every race boat on the water today.

(Photo Below) It did my heart good to see this boat leading the pack of J Hydros up the river Sunday, because...

...it was the new driver of the former "Glazed Donut" built by Jerry Davids, which was last raced in Lock Haven by none other than my son Luke. Note the pickle fork solution used (to meet the newest rule), which was discussed in detail earlier this year on a thread here on hydroracer.net.

One more set from Sunday before I head to the Lock this morning.

(Picture below) We need more of these at Lock Haven. They are a CROWD PLEASER!

Great Pictures. Love when you guys come to my town. You can see us out on the water on my big wood house/pontoon boat watching at the upper end of the river or my tunnel hull race boat.

What class? What day(s)? I have the schedule for each day so I can narrow it down fairly quickly.

Not at the moment. But I have SO MANY good photos from this Lock Haven trip I'm going to have to reactivate a dormant account and upload pictures there which I hope to do within a week. I don't want to wear out my welcome here with the webmasters by posting too many photos (storage space = $$$$$).

Thanks, Dan. I'll check out Flickr again. But I always seem to find some "catch" that doesn't work for me. For example, one photo site I looked into limited the maximum resolution of uploaded photos. I'm shooting with a Nikon D7000 now, in Fine mode, which is 4,928 x 3,264 pixels -- POSTER SIZE! Even after cropping it's still POSTER SIZE!
