  • Tuesday at the Nationals

I am starting a thread for Tues. people to help keep the nats updates in order on this site. If we keep them listed by day it will be easier for those to view.

OK as posted on the other thread not much racing got done. That racing that did get done was great! some very close racing and great starts. I have video footage of the two first heat starts and will post when I get them down loaded tonight! All heck broke loose at 4:00 pm with 40 mph wind and raining sideways in the pits. Got video of that as well. For know thou here are some stills. During the lull the boy scouts had their base ball dunking tank for all racers to take part in dunking many officials and diplomats. I heard that Ed Hearn jr. was present to get dunked so he more than likely brought in the most dough for the scotts.

Enjoy! ---- More to come tonight.

    Report from Christine

Ok, fell asleep early last night and forgot to recharge the camera. So only a few shots for the day. But hey, you really did not miss a thing. Guess what the wind blew and blew and blew AGAIN! This time when the 25 SSR started blowing over backwards, they decided to go on wind delay. This continued until they called they day at 4pm. Then guess what,, it RAINED.. alot. If we could have only started racing at 430pm we could have got the day in in record time. The water was like glass. Sitting out by the pool now, with various parties gathering and barely a whisper of wind is blowing, and nary a cloud in the sky. So what do boat racers do when they are on wind delay? Sleep, work on boats, work on motors, bs..... same ole thing.. NOT HERE. lThere was foot ball in the water and later the local boyscout troop brought in a dunk tank. Celebrities included: Matt D'Agostino, Valerie D'Agostino, Scott Reed. The largest money maker was Ed Hearn. He was dunked 5 times! For a while all were missing the target, so Gary Pond got a branch and while Ed was taunting the crowd, pushed on the target dropping him in mid sentence. The gasping and coughing brought quite a few laughs from the crowd....

            Rain and wind

This was what racers saw coming across Grass Lake at 3:30pm Tuesday from the pits. One half hour later at 4:00 all heck broke loose. See the video I got of the Racecraft pits flag pole blowover. The sound in the video is rain and wind hitting the side of our trailer! Many were taking refuse under George Luces canopy (Red Trailer in background)
