  • '09 Nationals "Best Dressed" Team

A lot of time and effort has gone into making the '09 SO/J Nationals a great event. The Nationals will not only have the local officials, but State of MI Representatives stopping by. We plan to have some local radio, newspaper and possibly TV on site as well as the video production team that filmed the '08 Nationals in Whitney Point. Sponsors will also be making their way to the races at various times throughout the week.

As a result of all the potential exposure we will be getting both the Village of Grass Lake and MHRA are encouraging drivers and teams to look their best. We aren't asking teams to go out and spend hundreds of dollars with Pat Gleason (although he can make you a nice uniform). You can thank me later Pat. However, we are asking teams to try to have some level of a "team look". Whether, crew shirts, t-shirts w/ logos and even just the same colors, we want to step up look from our "normal" appearance.

So, why would anyone want to do this, if there was nothing other than our image we want to promote. This is where 3 local businesses have stepped up to help encourage the "Best Dressed" team concept.

Throughout the week selected local officials, sponsors and town people will be making notes at both the race and banquets/parties of who they feel are always looking their best. At the end of the week they will compile their notess and award 1st-3rd "Best Dressed" Teams at the Finals Awards Banquet. Prizes will be as follows:
1st - $200 Prepaid Credit Card donated by Season's Car Wash of Grass Lake, MI
2nd - $150 Gas/Check Card donated by the Savetime Mobil Gas Station / Convience Store of Grass Lake, MI
3rd - $125 Prepain Credit Card donated by TCS (The Computer Source) of Grass Lake, MI

The prizes are ones that everyone can use (cash money) help offset the cost of the weeks event and help with gas and food and your trip back home. More information will be posted soon on http://www.michiganhydroplane.com/GrassLake09.html.

Give it some thought and come to Grass Lake looking your best!
    Thanks.
